Speaker Appoints Robbins to Impaired Driving Prevention Council

South Carolina Speaker of the House Murrell Smith has appointed state Rep. Robby Robbins (R – Dorchester, Colleton) to the S.C. Impaired Driving Prevention Council. The appointment is for a two-year term.

The council serves as a workgroup providing qualitative input and assistance to the S.C. General Assembly, state agencies, and other organizations with the goal of reducing the number of collisions, injuries, and deaths caused by impaired drivers in South Carolina.

“I am honored Speaker Smith has put his trust in me. Ensuring we have safer South Carolina roadways is a priority of mine and I look forward to the work the council does,” said Robbins.

Smith is leaning on Robbins’ depth of prosecutorial experience with the appointment. Robbins previously served as the Solicitor for the First Judicial Circuit (Dorchester, Orangeburg, and Calhoun counties), which is the region’s chief prosecutor.
