State Representative Robby Robbins (Dorchester, Colleton) has been appointed to an Ad Hoc Committee to examine the Judicial Appointment and Selection Process by S.C. House Speaker Murrell Smith.<\/p>\n
Robbins is a former top prosecutor in Dorchester, Orangeburg, and Calhoun counties and has more than 36 years of experience practicing law in South Carolina.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt is quite an honor to be appointed by Speaker Smith. I look forward to the task at hand drawing upon my 36 years of legal experience,\u201d Robbins said of the appointment.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
Smith tasked the group to create a set of recommendations to the House of Representatives by February 1, 2024 – and expects them to hold public hearings to listen to all viewpoints. Smith also noted that the group is made up of attorneys and non-attorneys to represent more diverse views.<\/p>\n
