As we step into 2025, I want to share what lies ahead for South Carolina as the legislative session begins on Tuesday, January 14th. My State House colleagues and I are committed to making this year one of progress, growth, and opportunity for our state.

This session, we’ll focus on the House Republican Caucus’s Six Pillars for Progress, which aim to:

Deliver Tax Cuts: Simplify our tax system and reduce our tax rate to be lower than our neighboring states in Georgia and North Carolina.

Promote Business-Friendly Policies: Allow our homegrown small business to be more successful by addressing escalating costs from property tax relief for businesses to insurance reform.

Boost the Economy: Invest in infrastructure, energy, and workforce development.

Expand Education Opportunities: Empower parents and improve student outcomes by giving parents more options.

Prioritize Public Safety: Strengthen penalties for violent crimes and support our brave law enforcement heroes.

Strengthen Families and Communities: Support parental rights, personal freedoms, and conservative values.

You may have received misleading messages or seen information designed to raise questions about our conservative leadership or legislative goals – no doubt you will continue to receive them throughout the legislative session. Let me be clear: my commitment to serving South Carolina and conservative principles is unwavering.

The House Republican Caucus, with 90% of its members endorsed by President Donald Trump, reflects the President’s belief in the strong conservative leadership of this state.

We’re fighting a misinformation war led by external interest groups who seek to delay conservative reforms in Columbia. In the face of that, I remain committed to transparency and direct communication with constituents, which remains a cornerstone of the legislative agenda. If you’d like to discuss any concerns or need assistance, please don’t hesitate to contact me.
